Once the bell rang, Bliss avoided taking on James. She let Absolution do the fighting for her in the early going.
An aggressive Bayley led a rally, but the heels continued to dominate. James knocked some heads around while keeping her eye on Bliss. The Raw women’s champ and Absolution eventually took over once more, though.
It took a hot tag and a Bank Statement from Banks to nab the win for the babyfaces.
Absolution wiped out Bayley and Banks after the loss. The group moved on to Bliss, who avoided a beatdown thanks to an assist from James.

Alexa Bliss cited the need to keep Absolution from winning the Raw Women’s Championship as the reason she came to the aid of Mickie James.
Monday night, she teamed with her former rival to battle Absolution’s Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in yet another preview of the upcoming Elimination Chamber.
The heels isolated James for the majority of the bout, but the veteran fought her way back into the match and delivered a neckbreaker to Rose.
Before she could make the tag, though, Deville pulled Bliss off the apron.
Rose would pick up the victory for her team with a double underhook facebuster to James.
After the match, Bliss broke up a beatdown and stared Absolution down to end the segment.

This week’s Mixed Match Challenge featured the real couple of Jimmy Uso and Naomi teaming up to battle Goldust and his new partner, Mandy Rose.
Goldie was originally set to team with Alicia Fox, but she was sidelined with an injury. Rose used to go by the nickname “The Golden Goddess,” so this pairing made sense.
Daniel Bryan was voted to be the special guest referee for this match, which is convenient since he was already in the arena for SmackDown while Kurt Angle would have had to make a special trip had he won the poll.
How you feel about this match is going to depend on what you were hoping for going into it. If you wanted an exchange of technical wrestling, you are going to be disappointed.
But if you wanted to see some entertaining trash-talking and a few fun spots, this bout will put a smile on your face. Naomi and Uso picked up the win thanks to some teamwork, but their night wasn’t over after the bell.

It was James who was the aggressor early with Deville selling a busted open nose. Mandy Rose jumping on the ring apron provided enough of a distraction for Deville to reverse her fortunes as James sold a neck injury. James surprised Deville with a roll-up for the pinfall, leading Absolution to attack her after the match until Bliss ran in to save James. Both the crowd and James were confused as Bliss helped James to the bank.

This three-segment match was designed to draw attention to Sunday’s inaugural women’s Royal Rumble match but instead dragged on like a sore thumb. The finish came abruptly after the second commercial. As wrestlers from both teams brawled outside, Banks sidestepped a scissors kick from Fox and put her in the Banks Statement for the tap. As the babyfaces celebrated, Asuka turned on her teammates and tossed all three over the top rope in a good piece of booking.

Back from the break and Bayley is out with Sasha Banks and Mickie James. We see a replay of Stephanie McMahon’s women’s Royal Rumble announcement. Absolution is out next as Paige, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville hit the ring.
Mandy starts off with Bayley and gets the upperhand while talking some trash. Mandy keeps control and takes Bayley to the corner for more offense. Mandy scoop slams Bayley and covers for a 2 count. Mandy keeps Bayley grounded now. Bayley finally fights back and hits a suplex. Bayley looks to make a comeback but Paige and Deville pull Rose to safety. We go to commercial.

Deville tags in and keeps control of Sasha, unloading on her with body shots. Rose tags back in and works Sasha over near the corner as Bayley waits for the tag. The more experienced trio of Bayley, Sasha Banks and Mickie James started out quick Monday night, isolating Mandy Rose and picking the villainess apart. A well-timed left hand to Bayley, though, allowed the heels to take control of the bout.
A vicious, scary clothesline by Sonya Deville to The Boss continued Absolution’s control of the bout. Paige followed up on the assault, stomping away at her fellow NXT alumna. The Boss spent several minutes on the receiving end of punishment at the hands of Paige and her cohorts.
Rose, in particular, seized the spotlight and turned in a strong performance as she wore down the former women’s champion.
Bayley made the hot tag and fired off strikes at everyone in her path before a Bayley-to-Belly nearly spelled the end of Paige.
The action broke down at ringside, and when Bayley and the Anti-Diva returned to the squared circle, the raven-haired Brit seized a momentary opening and delivered Ram-Paige for the pinfall victory.

Mickie James and Bayley followed and Absolution joined for the night’s main event.
The match hardly got started before the heels drew a disqualification, the three of them working over Banks in what was little more than a glorified mauling.
Nia Jax hit the ring and wiped out both Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose with a double Samoan Drop before Paige clipped her leg. The remainder of the women’s locker room hit the ring and a massive brawl broke out.
Suddenly, Stephanie McMahon’s music played and the most powerful woman in the sport made her way to the ring. After running down the list of accomplishments the women of WWE have been responsible for over the last two years, she announced the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble and drew a major “YES” chant from the WWE faithful.

The Raw women’s division put its biggest feud on display with a six-woman tag match when Absolution faced the team of Bayley, Banks and James.
This was another example of WWE trying to put too many people in the ring without giving them enough time to tell a coherent story, but it was also another case of the crowd not caring one bit about that.
Everyone in attendance was screaming and chanting from bell to bell. The action was fast-paced and allowed each performer to hit a few good moves.
This exact same match might not have received as much praise on a regular episode of Raw, but the crowd’s enthusiasm made it more enjoyable.
This is not to say the six women in the ring didn’t do a good job. Everyone looked great, but they would have looked even better with as little as three more minutes.
In a change of pace from the first three bouts, the heels picked up the victory when Paige pinned James following her trademark Rampaige DDT.

Mandy gets knocked down by Bayley right away, so she tags in Paige. Bayley backs her to the corner and tags in Mickie. Rose barely saves Paige from a double suplex, but the Absolution members still get sent out of the ring. A sloppy spot at ringside leads to James and Bayley taking them out at ringside as we head to a break.
We return to see Mandy hit a running knee to Bayley for a two count. Paige tags in and hits her signature series of knees on the apron. The Hugger gets cornered for some cheap shots while the ref is busy making Banks leave the ring. James finally gets the hot tag and takes out Paige on the apron before dishing out some punishment to Rose. Deville tries to interfere, but she gets kicked off the apron by James. Mickie goes for the MickDT, but a kick to the head from Paige allows Mandy to pin her for the win. There was a few sloppy moments in this match, and surprisingly they involved Paige more than Rose.
